Deities of Ink Slab and Brush

According to traditional Chinese ceremony, the first procedure of eye dotting was the "invitation of ink slab" conducted by Elder Guru Vajra Fa Hua.

The ink slab represented the deity of the great earth.  The ink slab to be invited this time was the hundred-year old and priceless nine-dragon ink slab.  Nine dragons chasing the pearl were carved upon the ink slab.

This ink slab was an antique specifically used for the traditional rituals of dragon dance.  It had very high artistic and cultural value.  It had followed our Holy Zhi-Ji Vimalakirti Ahdharma Buddha Patriarch Master to come to Hobart.  It was revealed publicly and shared with everyone in this dragon year's festivity.

Immediately followed was the invitation of the brush deity by Elder Guru Vajra Miao Guo.  The brush was the deity of wisdom, it was used to dot paint on the eyes.

Then, the blind dragon entered the stage.  At this stage, the dragon was without eye-sight, it ran around aimlessly.  As the honoured guests were given authority to give light to the blind dragon, the blind dragon pleaded with the honoured guests:

          "Please give me light!

          Please bring me sight!

Please let me soar up the sky alright!"
