10月1日，房新文總領事出席領區塔斯馬尼亞州首府霍巴特市政府舉辦的慶祝中華人民共和國成立76週年暨中澳建交53週年酒會。波塞爾特（代表雷諾茲市長)等多位市議員，當地政、商、僑、文、宗教及友好組織等各屆人士近百人出席。活動前在市政廳門前舉行了升旗儀式。

 
房總領事在致辭中感謝各屆人士為促進中澳友好所做貢獻，高度評價霍巴特市政府首次舉辦包括升旗儀式在內的中國國慶暨中澳建交慶祝活動，期待霍巴特市對華交流與合作取得更大進展。

 
波塞爾特表示，華人社區是當地多元文化重要組成部份，共同慶祝中國國慶及澳中建交具有重要意義。霍巴特市願同中方一道，共同推動雙方務實合作深入發展。

 
Consul General Fang Xinwen attends the reception hosted by Hobart City Council in honour of China's National Day and China-Australia relationship

On October 1, Consul General Fang Xinwen attended the reception hosted by Hobart City Council in Tasmania's capital, Hobart, to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 53rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Australia. Nearly 100 people from all walks of life, including Cr Ryan Posselt, representing Lord Mayor Anna Reynolds, Councilors and Alderman of Hobart and other cities, officials, business leaders, Chinese community leaders, artists, religious and friendship associations, attended the reception. A flag-raising ceremony was held in front of Town Hall before the event.

In his speech, Consul General Fang thanked all friends for their contributions to promoting China-Australia friendship, and spoke highly of the event including the flag-raising ceremony, the first ever of this kind in recent years hosted by Hobart City Council. Fang looked forward to greater progress in Hobart's exchanges and cooperation with China.

Cr Posselt said the Chinese community is an intergral part of local multicultural society, and joint celebration with the Chinese community of China's National Day and Australua-China bilateral relationship is of great significance. Hobart will work with China to deepen practical cooperation in the future.
