《学法感悟》〈之一)

The latter part of this year has been tumultuous, with a flurry of attacks and public opinions since August, including but not limited to:

- On 9th August, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) televised on its 7.30 evening news program and national website, a report titled “The Tasmanian Buddhist spiritual group being accused of operating like a cult.”

- On 2nd October, ABC reported “One man’s escape from a Tasmanian Buddhism group.”

- In November, elder gurus and gurus at the world headquarters were subjected to profiled targeting and assault by juvenile delinquents.

Under such circumstances, our successful completion of this year's Christmas Pageant was no easy feat. It stands as a formidable response to the organisations and individuals who attempted to defame and harm Holy Tantra Esoteric Buddhism.

 

 
During the opening eye-dotting holy ritual, Patriarch Master emphasized “multicultural faith, China-Australia friendship and unity.”

This disciple understands that it is a reiteration of our standpoint: Holy Tantra Esoteric Buddhism upholds Buddhism Beyond Boundaries, with a fundamental standpoint of expanding the boundaries of unity, harmony, peace, wisdom and compassion.

This is because our doctrine includes respectfully repaying the four categories of grace and to save those suffering in the three paths.

Participating in the city’s Christmas pageant, the lotus statue car of the Great Holy Sakyamuni Buddha was upfront leading. This represented Holy Tantra practitioners taking refuge in the Buddha, Dharma, Sangha, Acarya, and Dharma Nature. This is respectfully repaying the grace of the Triple Gem.

Participating in the city's Christmas pageant is to support the government's action in benefiting the people. This is to respectfully repay the grace of the country.

Participating in the city's Christmas pageant is to share the joy of Dharma Nature, spiritual wisdom and spiritual merits, liberating sentient beings through hearing, seeing, and touching. This is respectfully repaying the grace of sentient beings.

This disciple understands that this is not only as a response to external parties, but also to serve as an education for us, it is an opportunity to practice meditation.

 

 
As written in Elder Guru Hong Hao’s article, we nurture and elevate our Bodhicitta through the thoughts of “repaying grace”.

This a cultivation of the five categories of hearts of kindness and compassion. Parents, country, sentient beings and the Triple Gem are different levels and dimensions. They represent elevations from from Love-Condition Heart of Kindness and Compassion, to Multitude-Condition Heart of Kindness and Compassion, from Dharma-Condition Heart of Kindness and Compassion, to the Unconditional Great Heart of Kindness and Compassion, and finally to the Holy-Condition Heart of Kindness and Compassion.

It is the cultivation of a profound spiritual consciousness, progressing from the sixth to the seventh consciousness, from the pure portion of the seventh consciousness to the eighth consciousness, from the pure portion of the eighth consciousness to the ninth consciousness, all the way to the tenth, eleventh, twelfth, and the thirteenth level of consciousness.

It is the cultivation of wisdom and prajna. From the secular All Accomplishing Wisdom (Krtyanusthana-jnana), to the Wisdom of Subtle Insight (Pratyaveksana-jnana) arising from consciousness, from the Wisdom of Equality (Samata-jnana) in the Mana Consciousness, to the Great Mirror Wisdom (Adarsana-jnana) in the Alaya Consciousness, and from the pure portion of the Alaya Consciousness which sublimates the Tathagata Consciousness into the Ultimate Reality Wisdom (Dharmadhatu-prakrti-jnana).
