Speech from Jin-Gang Chan Zhang

¡@ Your honorable chairman, the most respectable Parliament, the most venerable Buddhist Masters, and the most venerable knowledgeable intellectuals of the world's religions. Please allow me on behalf of Jin-Gang-Dhyana Incorporated, please allow me on behalf of Jin-Gang-Dhyana WANG Xin-De Foundation and please allow me on behalf of the three million Jin-Gang-Dhyana practitioners of worldwide Chinese Esoteric Buddhism Esoterically-Esoteric lineage, to salute our deepest congratulation and gratitude.

¡@ On behalf of our organization, I would like to express our consideration in relation to the Parliament's main themes.

¡@ Religion advocates on human virtues! Hence our primary focus can be none other than the subject of morality. Modern civilization, law and order, and technological advancement could not govern on human morality. Law and order can control human expressive behavior but could not hold sway on the inner thought of man. Scientific technologies can create various weaponry, but they cannot prevent people from self-harm and destruction of other human beings. Religion does not prohibit any kind of human development; nor does religion involve in developing any weaponry. Instead, we believe cultivation of the mind could bring about self-discipline, and is able to indoctrinate mankind towards ultimate beauty and purity, rather than total destruction. This we believe is scientific, developmental, motivational and revolutionary.

¡@ If we continue to allow the downward spiralling of morality, disunity, discord and destruction to rule in our society, not only can we not bring about peace; nor can we subordinate one another, but fashion havoc. In this way, we harbour dissatisfaction and rebellion, and inevitably reap the tragic consequences of our own action. Therefore, we need to get rid of our prejudice and break down any barriers; we need to focus our mind to a higher calling of well being for mankind. This is the most important mission.

¡@ Buddha is nature, the mind is Buddha. Each of us innately has dharma nature, and this dharma nature is flawless and transcending, the finite and the infinite, physical life and eternal life, are all appraised and encompassed by it. It is crucial for understanding one's intrinsic calm abiding nature and creating a genuine harmony between oneself and the surroundings.

¡@ Chinese Esoteric Buddhism Esoterically-Esoteric Jin-Gang-Dhyana evidences the law of the universe, penetrates the meaning of life itself. Jin-Gang-Dhyana reveals the properties of eternal life, which can be experienced and practiced by everybody. Fully integrated theological theories should also be accompanied by practising methods. We emphasize true practitioners achieving eternal life with actual practice and attainment within the current life. We hope that everyone on this planet practises solid practice and true realization that elevate his spirit, improve his personality, enhance the qualities of his body and mind and achieve peacefulness within, then shouldn't the world be a peaceful place too?

¡@ Path seekers with different karmic capabilities can all benefit according to their innate abilities. We hope the practitioners will utilize the great wisdom of the universe in liberating from miseries, experiencing the great illuminating realm of the universe and reaching the realm of eternal universal bliss. This is the great meritorious practice.

¡@ If our desire is to render altruistic human virtues, we need to adopt a humble attitude to the world ecosystem, and to each other, and we need to understand our own aim and goal. We advocate peace, prosperity and stability to mankind. World peace and unity can only be ascertained if we have the same attitude of mind towards securing peace.

¡@ Progression of human race is not in accord because of the variance in geography, climate, culture, language and ways of living, yet religions are interlocked with each other in terms of economical and environmental matters. So when we are dealing with problems, which are sociological and philosophical, we should strive to fortify tolerance and acceptance of different ideologies. At the same time, we need to respect and be objective to each religion and modify our thinking to adapt into modern application so that we can raise the standard of our learning which is balanced and ecological.

¡@ Interaction with one another is a form of cultural exchange. This exchange is held against the backdrop of different race, culture and society. It is over and beyond the barrier of historical and cultural progression. In view of today's world economy and evolution of cultural development, this exchange will lead us to world peace and unity and will raise morality to its purest form.

¡@ Regardless of our nationality, race culture, color and language, we hope to value each other's occupation, nurture mutual respect, tolerance and support. In so doing to bring about its true meaning and worth. Therefore, we should embrace a wider, deeper spectrum of tolerance, perseverance and equality among man.

¡@ The religious culture of the world's nations spans a wide spectrum. Traditional religions and reformed religions should mutually respect each other and mutually tolerate each other. Religious leaders should possess the necessary kindness, magnanimous, generous and benevolent loving heart to accept the general world trend of multiple co-existence, advocate harmonious unification of the world's religions.

¡@ All religions are part of the world's one great heritage. Our Chinese Esoteric Buddhism Esoterically-Esoteric Jin-Gang-Dhyana is also part of this heritage. Therefore, we should respect and treasure all knowledge, to learn and modify our knowledge for the furtherance of mankind.

¡@ It is our sincere hope for people everywhere to understand, appreciate and benefit from our belief, not overlooking it. We hope to be comrades of the same course with people everywhere, able to extract its essence, choose the right path. Disregarding nationality, we hope our comrades are able to cherish their occupation and respected by the society they are in. And that we are able to nurture each other, to enrich the world, for the sake of our belief, to work towards the goal which is for world peace, harmony and happiness.

¡@ Thank you again for bearing with us on this subject. We wish the Parliament a great success.
