On behalf of the Baha'i community in Hobart, I would like to thank you all for inviting us to this gathering.  It gives me really great pleasure to be in such a diverse gathering from all different sorts of backgrounds.

          Anything that fosters friendship and cooperation among people, we support wholeheartedly.  This is very much in line with the principles of our faith.  And it is true that gatherings like this the unity and the cooperation of people can be fostered and established.

          And you can't imagine if you walk to a garden that is all white, if you go to a garden that is all same colour, if everyone was exactly the same.  If you hear to the music, and the beauty of the music as it is all of is different notes, that by coming through hand, creates this beautiful tone and beautiful melody.  The same with the humanity.  It is that all this diversity and diverse cultures that humanity comes into.  And we support that.
