Sakyamuni -
From Crown Prince to Buddha

Completed the Sangha Form

¡@ ¡@ Siddhartha was deeply inspired, and generated the wish to leave home to practise.  When Siddhartha mentioned his wish to Suddhodana, Suddhodana tried everything to stop him and arranged him to get married.

¡@ ¡@ When he was seventeen, he married Yasodhara from the neighbouring kingdom.  Suddhodana also constructed three magnificent palaces of different seasons of spring, summer and autumn with numerous beautiful court ladies singing and dancing continuously hoping to please the crown prince.

¡@ ¡@ However, these could not stop Siddhartha from leaving home.  One night, Siddhartha left his kingdom and went to the forest.  He met a hunter wearing a robe and holding an arrow.  Siddhartha asked the hunter to swap his robe with his brocaded clothes.  When Siddhartha put on the tranquil dharma robe, He completed the sangha form.

¡@ ¡@ After the crown prince disappeared, the palace was filled with the sound of crying.  The charioteer secretly went back to the palace and reported to Suddhodana, Mahaprajapati and Yasodhara regarding Siddhartha's determination.  Suddhodana sent two noblemen to search for the crown prince.
